On November 5, 2021, four Metro DC Eagles were inducted into the Society of Golden Eagles during the Founder’s Day Convocation. Due to the pandemic, NCCU classes of 1970 and 1971 were inducted together. One of the newest Metro DC Golden Eagles is Mr. Calvin Kearney who is a former National Alumni Association President and a former Metro DC Chapter President. The other inductees include Ms. Carrie L. Hester, Ms. Iris Hudson, and Ms. Annie Carroll. The Metro DC Chapter Congratulates the newest Golden Eagles and Silver Eagles!
NCCU Chancellor, Dr. Johnson O. Akinleye, attended the Athletics Donor Reception held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on November 13, 2021. Alumni in attendance heard remarks from former NCCU student athlete Carl Jones regarding his professional experience post-graduation from NCCU. Attendees also learned of the many exciting things happening at NCCU including construction of the new School of Business, athletics, and BRITE research.
