Known as the “Signature” event of the Metro DC Chapter, the Annual Scholarship Gala brings NCCU Eagles and friends of NCCU together in an atmosphere that is elegant, electrifying, and purposeful. Come join us for a night filled with dining, conversations, dancing, pictures, networking, and fundraising! At past galas, supporters come from near and far and we anticipate another year of entertaining our supporters again. We thank them for their continued support and belief in our vision to support students. The Metro DC Chapter is committed to do all it can to raise monies toward scholarships for students from the Metro DC area who choose to or currently attend North Carolina Central University. Where will you serve?  Start thinking about what position you would like to hold. All offices are open for nomination. Please let the Metro DC Chapter know which local positions you would like to run for by April 9th, 2018 (Deadline).  The elected positions are President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian. Dana Askew, NCCU Class of 1993 and past President of Metro DC Chapter from 2012-2014, is remembered for her dedication, drive, work in education for the development of students, and her love for our alma mater, Dear Ole NCC. In an effort to keep her legacy alive, the Dana Michelle Askew Scholarship has been established to help those who have potential, but lack the financial means to accomplish their collegiate goals.  The scholarship will help students who desire to teach at the post-secondary education level and will give hope and encouragement to those deserving young persons. The tri-regional area of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, also known as the "DMV", boasts over 1,400 NCCU graduates and former students who have built careers and families here since leaving the "sloping hills and verdant green". Annual Local Membership Dues Local - $25 Century Club ($25 dues + $25 operations + $50 scholarship) - $100 Life Member - $500 Local + National - $75   The National Membership Dues for the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association, Inc. (NCCUAA) are valid 12 months from date of payment.
