Where will you serve?  Start thinking about what position you would like to hold. All offices are open for nomination. Please let the Metro DC Chapter know which local positions you would like to run for by April 9th, 2018 (Deadline).  The elected positions are President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian. Dana Askew, NCCU Class of 1993 and past President of Metro DC Chapter from 2012-2014, is remembered for her dedication, drive, work in education for the development of students, and her love for our alma mater, Dear Ole NCC. In an effort to keep her legacy alive, the Dana Michelle Askew Scholarship has been established to help those who have potential, but lack the financial means to accomplish their collegiate goals.  The scholarship will help students who desire to teach at the post-secondary education level and will give hope and encouragement to those deserving young persons. A Note from the 2017-2018 NCCU Ms. Alumni Michelle Gaston: Thank you to everyone who supported my candidacy for Ms. Alumni of the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Alumni Association. Due to your generosity and support, I won the honor of serving as Ms. Alumni for 2017-2018. I couldn't have done it without you. This year's alumni court raised almost $50,000 for current and prospective scholars at NCCU. The other members of the alumni court (Richard Gilbert (Mr. Alumni – Raleigh-Wake Chapter); Lisa Smith (1st Runner-Up, Durham Chapter); Michael Lipscomb (1st Runner-Up, New Jersey Chapter); and Nykole Wyatt (2nd Runner-Up, Charlotte)) are to be congratulated for their hard work, energy and effort. The tri-regional area of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, also known as the "DMV", boasts over 1,400 NCCU graduates and former students who have built careers and families here since leaving the "sloping hills and verdant green".
