Metro DC Chapter/NCCUAA – 2020-2021 Quarantine Scholarship Fundraiser

View our Flyer HERE for details and click HERE for our Sponsorship form.

To help the Metro DC Chapter of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association (MDCC-NCCUAA) raise $20,000 to deposit in its scholarship fund established under the NCCU Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.  These scholarship funds are awarded to students from the DC Metropolitan area (DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) who attend NCCU and need financial assistance.

Due to the Pandemic of 2020, the April 2020 Scholarship Gala was cancelled, and we were not able to fulfill our financial obligation to the Scholarship Fund. Due to the uncertainty of being able to have an in-person Gala in 2021 because of continuing effects of the pandemic, availability of a safe vaccine, and the comfort level of supporters to gather in large crowds, we are conducting this virtual fundraiser.

WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT OF THIS WORTHY CAUSE BY MAKING A FULLY TAX DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION ON OR BEFORE APRIL 1, 2021.

As most of you know, the cost of a college education is ever increasing and the need for financial assistance will continue.  The cost of out-of-state tuition at NCCU is now over $35,000 per year.  Even though these are unprecedented times, we do not see this lasting forever.  Therefore, as students are eventually able to fully return to college life as we know it, the need for assistance will be even greater because of the impact of unemployment and other economic conditions.  Please invest in the future of the students.

HOW DO I SUPPORT

IT IS EASY. You can donate online at www.nccudc.org or on our EventBrite page at www.fundraiser.nccudc.org.

You can also make your check/money order payable to the NCCU Foundation, Inc. In the memo line specify MDCC Scholarship Fund #T01461. Mail to: MDCC-NCCUAA, P.O. Box 1508, Washington, DC 20013. Attn: Monica Perry.

All contributors making donations between now and April 1, 2021 will be listed in the University’s FY 21 Philanthropy publication of donors.  In addition, all donors and businesses will be listed on the MDCC’s website, Facebook page, and other publications to provide a marketing opportunity for their company or brand, and be included among other committed donors who invest in education. There are several levels of support listed on the MDCC Scholarship Fundraiser Sponsorship Form and the Quarantine 2020-2021 Flyer.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
